S-687 Fungus- and Mildew-Resistant Grout (TCA Formula MRG-82)

Short Form Specifications Detailed Specifications

S-687 Unsanded wall grout is recommended for narrow joints when using porous-bodied tile. This joint filler is formulated to resist the growth of most prevalent types of fungus and mildew, including black mold, which stain or discolor conventionally formulated grouts. The active ingredient in S-687 is registered with the EPA, No. 2204-19, and is ecologically safe. When setting and grouting, check the ANSI / TCA guidelines for proper substrate and cure conditions. Available in 5-pound and 25-pound bags. Colors: Available in 32 colors. See S-700/S-710 colors.

TEST RESULTS:
Tests performed by the Tile Council of America Research Center conclusively determined S-687 prevents mold, mildew and fungus growth on the grout as well as on a thin layer of growth-supporting medium poured onto the surface of the grout.
Tile grouted with S-687 shows no mold or mildew growth after 14 days immersion in a growth-supporting medium.
Tile grouted with conventionally formulated grout immersed in the same substance for 14 days is covered with mold and mildew.
NOTE: We do not recommend sealing S-687. Sealing S-687 can encapsulate the fungicide that prevents mildew growth.

S-710 PolyChromes Sanded Joint Filler Contains Powdered Latex

Short Form Specifications Detailed Specifications

S-710 sanded grout features a premixed powered latex formula. Simply mix with water for dense, color fast joints. S-710 is less expensive than adding liquid latex to S-700. It eliminates improper thinning (excessive water) of liquid latex. Liquid latex will freeze during shipment in winter months; powdered latex will not. Eliminates wet curing--DO NOT WET CURE. S-710 has higher compressive strength, greater flexibility (important over wood floors), great bond strength and better color retentivity than S-700. It also provides improved protection from efflorescence (salts escaping from cementitious substrates) and improved shrinkage characteristics. Always slake 10-15 minutes to ensure complete moisture migration; when setting grouting, check the ANSI / TCA guidelines for proper substrate and cure conditions; meets or exceeds ANSI A118.6 specifications. Available in the same 32 colors as S-700 with improved Physical Properties. Mix with water only; do not mix with S-775 or S-120. S-710 PolyChrome available in 9-pound, 25-pound and 50-pound units.

*Summitville recommends neutral colored grouts for heavy traffic floors. For superior stain resistance and color retentivity, use S-400, S-500 or S-600 Epoxy.

NOTE: All colored grouts, when used on floors, will discolor over time due to normal foot traffic, etc. This will cause a graying of the original color. Keep this in mind when selecting a colored grout for floor application.
Always test your tile with colored grout for staining, especially with black grout, before proceeding with the job. Use SL-90 grout release if necessary to prevent clean-up problems.

S-750 Thin Brick Pointing Mortar

Short Form Specifications Detailed Specifications

S-750 has good tooling characteristics not only for appearance, but to seal the interface between mortar and masonry unit. Brick should be set on an approved substrate using S-810/S-777 tile setting mortar system which has cured for a minimum of 48 hours at 70 degrees F, before grouting. Color: Natural Gray.
