S-400
Setting and Grouting Epoxy
(TCA Formula AARII-HT epoxy mortar and grout)
|
|
Use S-400 where chemical resistance is important. Can be installed over floor brick, quarry, pavers an ceramic mosaics.
|
S-40 floor and wall (two-part) epoxy is ideal for setting and grouting floor brick, quarry tile, pavers and ceramic mosaics. This improved TCA AARII formula is recommended for use in distilleries, refineries, chemical laboratories, breweries, food processing plants, etc. S-400 is sag resistant and water cleanable. S-400 grout joints will be slightly concave. S-400 has exceptional bond strength (greater than 1,000 psi) It will remain rigid and cohesive at temperatures up to 350 degrees F. This product meets or exceed ANSI A118.3-1985 specifications. Available in 1-gallon and 3-gallon unit sizes. Also available in low-temperature formula for cold-weather installation (S-400 LT).
All light colored epoxies will yellow with exposure to ultraviolet light. Yellowing can be greatly reduced if washed with a mild acid solution (such as SL-7) in the first six months of installation.

S-600
100% Solids Epoxy Admix for S-700 Sanded Grout
S-600 is an epoxy admix that when added to a 25 lb. bag of S-700 sanded grout, gives a grout that meets the standards of a water cleanable, chemical resistant epoxy grout (ANSI A118.3). S-600 produces a high-performance, stain and chemical resistant grout while allowing a designer the flexibility of 32 colors. S-600 does not contain water like most epoxy admixes available today that meet ANSI A118.8. S-600 is more chemical resistant than A118.8 type epoxy admixes. S-600/S-700 can be used in: commercial kitchens, fast food restaurants, schools, bathrooms and anywhere stain resistance and chemical resistance is of prime concern. Because the epoxy admix produces different color shades than water or latex in the S-700 grout, an S-700 /S-600 color chart should be consulted to determine the desired color choice. S-600 is packaged in a pre-measured unit containing a part A (epoxy resin) and a part B (hardener). The A and B is mixed together then a 25 lb. bag of the desired color of S-700 sanded grout is added. This mixed unit produces 3 gallons of epoxy grout.
S-600/S-700 is designed for joint widths 1/8" to 1/2". For joints less than 1/8" use S-500 WC, Wall and Counter grout.

S-5000
Chemical Resistant Epoxy
S-5000 is a highly chemical resistant epoxy mortar and grout that meets or exceeds requirements of ANSI A118.3(Epoxy) and ANSI A118.5 (Furan). S-5000 is a three part 100% solids epoxy compound for setting and grouting of floor brick, quarry tile, pavers, porcelain tile and ceramic mosaics. S-5000 is designed to be used in many applications where furan grout has been required in the past. It is designed to resist attacks by many acids, alkalis, and other chemical compounds that normally break down cement mortars and standard 100% epoxy grouts. S-5000 resists chlorine and nitric acid which destroys furan.
It is recommended for use in distilleries, refineries, chemical laboratories, breweries, dairies, food processing plants, etc. S-5000 is sag resistant and should be specified for setting or grouting ceramic tile on any wall or floor installations.
S-5000 not only has exceptional bond strength (greater than 1000 psi), but it will remain rigid and cohesive at temperatures up to 350 degrees F.
Caution:
Protect from dirt and a ll traffic for 16 hours, heavy traffic and dirt for 48 hours. Do not grout in direct sunlight. Cure S-5000 a minimum of seven days before chemical exposure.
Available in 3 gallon units, gross weight = 41 lbs. Color is #991 Black, #961 Gray. Custom colors available.

S-4500 Fura-Set
Epoxy Mortar
Fura-set is a 3-part 100% solid epoxy mortar system designed for outstanding chemical and moisture resistance. S-4500 Fura-set meets or exceeds ANSI A118.3 requirements for epoxy mortar. Fura-set will cure at low temperatures (40 degrees F.) and high humidity. Floor brick may be installed with Fura-set on sound damp concrete at temperatures as low as 40 degrees F. Although Fura-set was designed primarily for floor brick installation, it will function well in other epoxy floor mortar applications. Fura-set meets USDA requirements for meat and poultry processing plants. S-4500 is available in a 12.8 gallon (164 lb.) unit consisting of a 6 gallon bucket of part A (48 lbs. net), 2 gallons of part B (16 lbs. net) and two 50 lb. bags of part C filler powder.

S-4000 Series
Furan Chemical Resistant Grouts
S-4000 Series is a 2-part (liquid resin and powder catalyst) grout system for use where chemical resistance is important. When properly cured, S-4000 Series is resistant to most non-oxidizing acids, alkalies, solvents, oils, grease, salts, detergents and steam cleaning up to 350 degrees F. Meets or exceeds ANSI A118.5 specifications. NOTE: Furan grouts require tile or brick to be waxed; installation requires special skills and procedures. Tile should be set with S-400, S-4500 or S-5000. S-4000 Series is available in 50 lb. buckets of resin (S-4000A) and 50-lb. bags of powder/catalyst (4002B). Color: #991 Black.
S-4002B filler can be used to grout tile or brick using either the Tile Setter's method or the Bricklayer's method. Mixing ratios for each method are as follows:
Tile Setter's: 1 part liquid resin to 1.8 parts of powder/catalyst.
Bricklayer's: 1 part liquid resin to 2 parts of powder/catalyst.
S-4002B, when mixed with S-4000A liquid resin, is a 2-part system designed for either tile setter's or bricklayer's method consisting of furan resin and 100% carbon/catalyst filler. S-4002B has superior chemical resistance and is resistant to most non-oxidizing acids, solvents and other chemicals as well as hot hydrofluoric acid and hot alkalies.
Chemical Resistance of S-4000 based on 28-day
immersion at room temperature.
